Dreams from the Court
The person who encouraged my earliest efforts was defiantly my dad. There came a time in my life were a certain person told me I would never amount to anything in the sport I had my heart set on. I remember I would come home in a panic and just begin to cry. It got to the point were that certain person told me that the reason I was on "B" team was because of the way I shot a basketball. That was the last straw for me and so I broke. Little did I know, my dad had my back. He went up to the principals office and had all his ducks in a row when he talked to him. I remember after I had got home that one day from school, he told me that no one had the right to put me down and tell me that I couldn't accomplish something. That's when i realized that i would always have my dads support in what ever I did, even if I wasn't so great at it. But look were I'm at now, varsity basketball.

I like the way your dad set his foot down and did everything in his power to make you feel better, how did you feel about that?
ReplyDelete@Crystal I felt like he was on my side and really believed in me
DeleteDo you think without your dad's support you would still be playing basketball now?
ReplyDelete@Nathaniel I honestly don't know, maybe I would be just I wouldn't be so sure of myself in that sport.
Deleteyour dad had ducks? in the office?

What is so wrong with being on B team?
ReplyDeleteDo you think if the person did not tell what they did, your dad will still be the person that encourage you the earlist
