Family Past

My family
Prominent, well-to-do people
Middle-western city for three generations.

The Carraways
Something of a clan
A tradition that we're descended from the Dukes of Buccleuch.

The actual founder of my line
My grandfather's brother 
Came here in fifty-one

Sent a substitute to the Civil War 
Started the whole hardware business
My father carries on today.  (The Great Gatsby 7)
