Is it new?

Walker goes on a journey to Zora Neale Hurston's hometown, Eatonville. She is on a journey to find out who her aunt really was, and how she influenced the town she once grew up in. Walker does find a lot about who she, not only as a person, but as a woman of her own culture.
Walker discovers that her aunt was not very well known amongst some of the people in town. She goes all around town to find answers. She discovers, from the lady that directed Zora's funeral, the location of her grave site. Once she arrives, she is astonished on how the look of her grave site it. It is just left to be tarnished. She also discovers that her aunt did not die from malnutrition, but from a stroke. She finds this out from Zora's doctor.
By Walker being on the search for her aunt's past, she sees that she was part of an amazing ladies life. She sees that Zora had to grow up before her time, and so does she.

Loving Him Was Blue

I've got the blues, from not being with you.
They say I'm crazy for loving you.
I tell them their wrong, they tell me no.
I start to wonder if I'm going to be with you because I got the blues.
Oh yes I do.
It's like being lonely when your not alone.
It's like a hurt that can be gone.
I'm trying to fight it, I'm trying to lose it, but all I end up losing is you.

Janies Future....In Time....

"There are years that ask questions and years that answer."  Write a speculative response on what the upcoming year will hold for Janie.  Will this year be the year that asks questions or one that answers them?  Will this be the year that does both?

I believe that the upcoming year will answer both questions for Janie. She has finally met someone who cares about her just as much as she cares about them. That's something she has always wanted. However, was her finding that man worth leaving her other husband behind?

Also, her Nanny passing away really broke her in the sense that she realized that her Nanny wasn't there anymore to bicker at her for saying "what love is" and what it meant for her.Janie leaving into the sunset with Jody is truly a test to her. She simply decides to drop everything that she is doing for Jody, even if she's only known him for a short amount of time.

He loves me, he loves me not?...

Most people, when they get married, say that they've found that one person to spend the rest of their lives with. That one special person to call theirs. Now when you say that love has nothing to do with marriage, your wrong. Love may only be a small four letter word but it plays a huge role in marriage.
When you marry someone, you shouldn't be marrying them for any other reason but for the love you have for them. Yes, people do marry for money and for looks but that stuff really shouldn't matter. If you marry someone without loving them, then you can't expect that marriage to last very long because that's how the marriage grows. Without love, marriage would be so unforgettably boring because then its just two people who can't be around each other for the right reasons. Some may say what's love got to do with it, however I say loves got everything to do with it.

My Questions??????

Why does Gatsby seem so fictional to the people he meets?
Does Gatsby still love Daisy? Why?
From what we have read, is Tom is a violent man right?
Why did Tom get Daisy the Pearls?
Why was Daisy having second thoughts about marrying Tom with a man she hadn't seen in 4 years?

Can You Recover From a Bad First Impression? Yes? No? Maybe?

Can you recover from a bad first impression, which is the question? My answer is you can. Actually I take that back, you cannot recover from a bad first impression. Well wait, you can recover but depending on the situation. Many people believe that the first impression is the most important one, which is sort of true.

Most people wouldn't want to give a bad first impression to who could potentially be their future girlfriend/boyfriend, in-laws, employer, or even a random stranger who could end up being their friend someday.
A great example of all this can be your average teenage boy who is at his new girlfriends house getting the "fatherly interview" from her father. I can guarantee it though if the boy was sagging his pants and spoke in such broken English and who didn't care to ever talk politely to the father, well then that's just giving off a bad vibe in the first place. No father would even want his daughter to be dating such a loser.
So back to the question at hand, can you recover from a bad first impression? Like I have said before, it depends on the situation and how you handled it in the first place before you go and change it.

Looks Of The Book Or The Pages That Are Being Read In It?📖

Most people would judge a book by its cover. I'm one to say this but I'm also one to do it. I'm not gonna lie, sometimes I look at people and judge them by what they are wearing or how they act.
This is terrible for me to say but at one point in my life, I was scared of a girl who is now my best friend. I remember seeing her at school and she always looked like she hated me. I always kept my mouth shut about her though because I didn't want her to hate me more than I already thought she did. I soon realized though that she didn't hate me, it was just her being herself. And look at us now, we are on the same basketball team and she's like my sister.
A lot of us now a days only care about how we look, not about personalities. Take dating for example, girls and guys basically first care if the person they are potentially gonna date is good looking but it shouldn't be that way. What all of us value though is only of importance to us and really nobody else.
Now if you put a six foot tall, brunet, cute boy into the picture, heck I wouldn't hesitate to date him if he asked. I'm starting to realize though that looks shouldn't matter because the person who looks like the person you should trust, sometimes really isn't. Take it from me.

Assimilation.......For Better or Worse?

Assimilation is seen everyday from kids trying to fit in to immigrants trying to blend in. Assimilation is not only trying to fit it but more importantly fitting in with the, as us teenagers like to say it, the "in crowd." Like in the play, "A Raisin In The Sun", Beneatha seems like she is all fine with being away from the crowd but I feel like she is just doing it to set a fire. For instance, when Beneatha was arguing with Mama because she didn't believe in God, she wanted to get a point across to Mama but didn't do a good job of it and ended up getting a good slap to the face by Mama.

In my lifetime today, I can definitely say that there have always been people around me that been assimilating. Sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad. Most cases that I have heard of, have been for the bad. All they do it for is just to be with that "in crowd" like I've said before. And I'm not gonna lie, I have done it myself too. Now, I'm not saying that I do bad things and I'm a trouble maker because I'm not. I've actually done good things by following the crowd. Like joining basketball and clubs. But, there's apart of me that has always wondered, what would the world be like with out assimilation? Would it be for the better, or for the worse?

Me or my family?

My family is not just my family, but they are me. Yes, that may sound kinda peculiar but it's the truth. Without them, I wouldn't be the person I am today. My family is my solid ground. They are the people I turn to when I'm down and they pick me right back up.

Now I'm not saying I have that perfect family and all. Oh gosh! Let me tell you about my sister and I. We do have our fight and those moments were we don't talk to each other but that soon wears off and we go back to being that crazy, silly family I know us to be.

Now back to the question at hand, my family or me? Hands down my family because, like I have said before, they make me me. :)

American Dream....to Me

The "American Dream" can have numerous meanings to many different people. To an immigrant, it can mean having a job to provide for their family, a house, or an education. To the common American, it can be a college degree, a family, a well paying job, and or finding their soul mate. All of these are great dreams but I'm going to tell you the "American Dream" that means the most right now, mine.

My “American Dream” is to finish my high school education and go on to college on a scholarship. Either in my home town or away, whichever I may choose when the time comes. I would like to be a journalist and attend a college that can offer the best communications program. Once I have finished my four years and graduate from college, I would like to move to New York to pursue my dream of being a journalist at Seventeen Magazine and or Teen Vogue. If it could be possible, I would like to write in the teen advice section of the magazine because I love to give advice.
If I pursue all that I have talked about so far, I would then like to find that one person I can call mine and who shares the same passion for life that I do. Whether it’s working in the profession I like or just loving to have fun in whatever they do. That’s my “American Dream” and it may not mean as much to you as it does to me but hey, that why it’s called MY “American Dream.”

The amazing life of T-Swift

Well first off, as you can already tell, I'm not really Taylor Swift but I am a very big fan of her music. I love to sing and play a little bit of guitar. On the outside, I look like a complete girly girl but I also play basketball. When I walk out on the court, I don't care how my hair looks or if I get bruises on me because hey, that's basketball. I got to be tough in order to stay in the game.

Oh, and I got the name T-Swift because my whole basketball team and some other people call me that because according to them, I look like Taylor Swift. Which I fine completely funny because I seriously do not look like her because one, she is super pretty and too, I cannot sing like her even though I wish I could. Also I love to shop. I'm no shopaholic but i do shop. Another thing about me is I love to laugh and smile. If you could make me laugh and smile than your considered my friend. Well i think that's all you need to know about me:) Oh, and I love the color pink obviously.
